Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Considering Dr. Kirshenbaum

Recommended Posts

Short and sweet and to the point. My restriction went away this week again. Had a fill today, asked him to check my level, I lost a cc over the past 2 weeks. :whatchutalkingabout So he is positive I have a leak.

Put a call into Natalie. Not sure which direction I am going to go. I am nervous as hell to have my port replaced under local in the Dr office here... but can't afford to do the whole fly to Colorado, have it done under general, in a surgery center thing either.

I am just so tired and bummed out today. I was really hoping it was a fluke and it wasn't leaking. *sigh*

Challenge weigh in: I am up 1 pound.

Oh Dorky one. I'm sorry to hear that the job search is not going well. I know you don't want to ask for help, but if his parents have offered then you need to take them up on it. I know if my kids were in the same situation, I would do whatever I could to help and I would be MORE upset if they needed help and didn't ask.

Thanks for the advice. I will keep that in mind when it gets tighter... right now I have been able to keep us afloat. His mom took him grocery shopping last night and insisted on paying... so they are helping us out there for now. Still no job although he does have an interview today.

I am at 0 pounds for the challenge today. I am getting soooo frustrated with this stupid plateau. I have been the same weight for over a month now (I am not really counting the 5 pounds loss the first week of the challenge. That was weight I had gained while in MI.. it just put me back to where I was before before I left) :whatchutalkingabout

If you hear on the news about a woman running repeatadley over her scale with her car...you will know it's me.

Are you getting snow? We have this kind of icky sleet looking stuff coming down and it sure looks like it's going to snow.

I didn't see any snow til I got her to work, now it looks like it is really getting slick out in front of our building (I am down off of Colo Blvd and Mississippi). It ought to be a nice slow drive home:cursing:. And I can't believe how cold it is out there:eek:.

I had the worst time all through the months of September and October. I was only losing 1/2 pound a week. I tried everything and nothing seemed to work. I don't know what the secret is. sigh.

Hopefully you are over that. I don't know either, guess just wait til it passes.

I am down 2 for the challenge this week. I know it is good, but the scale hasn't budged for 3 days. I just wish it would at least go down a little every day. It is discouraging when it doesn't.

challenge weigh in: down 1.2

not bad considering thanksgiving and a celebratory weekend with friends...lots of alcohol:blushing:

the community center where I take art classes has built a new aquatic center that will open in January. I am signing up for aquaaerobics and am soooo excited about it. I love being in water:lol: So that will give me an hour of exercise three times a week. Considering I do nothing now, I am hoping that will really help my weight loss.

I'm so sorry to hear that you are leaking. Dammit. I can sure understand not wanting to have it replaced under a local . . . I wonder if they can hang up a sheet or whatever so you can't see? I'm thinking of how they drape you during a c-section so you can't actually see what they're doing. Or maybe twilight sedation?

How did hubby's interview go?

YAY MARIE!!! 2 is great. I notice that I stay stuck for 3 or 4 days then drop 1 or 2 lbs really fast.

Mini,

No change on my weight this week! It's been an insane week. I had the tummy flu and vomited for 24 hours. (not straight! - thank goodness!) It was the first time I have vomited since getting my band! But luckily it wasn't band related. I also got another fill yesterday. Just a small one, but it's working! I need to remember to chew chew chew! As our fills get looser, we tend to return to not chewing as well. I, also started my new job! A massive learning curve! I left a job where I was an expert and accepted one where I am a total dummy! AND believe me I feel like it! :tongue2:

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
