Lots of posts on here about him. I had surgery with him, he is an amazingly skilled surgeon, you can't go wrong with him.

You'll be in good hands. He's great at what he does and the whole team seems to have things down to a science.

I have chosen him for my band to sleeve revision. After MONTHS of research, I couldn't be more confident in my decision!! You're likely looking at a surgery date before mine (May 11th) but we can definitely check in with each other and compare our experiences! :)

Dr Garcia just did my sleeve on Thursday. I can't say enough good about him and his team. He truly cares about the outcome of his patients health. You should go to his Face Book page, his dedication just jumps out at you.

You should read as much as you can find here about him (there is a lot!). One thing you should be updated on is that he is also using florence Oasis Hospital as an option as well as Mi Doctor.

Once you get in touch with the coordinators (Ready4AChange) they will send you all the information you will need about pre-op diet, etc.

I am three days out of surgery and I feel great! So glad I did this!

Dr Garcia did my surgery on Friday at the Oasis Hospital. Everyone was so nice; the docs speak very good English. Dr. Garcia came into my room with an iPad and drew little colored pictures of the surgery, showing the external incisions and drain placement.

Two of the physicians have had bariatric surgery themselves and gave some firsthand advice on post op care and diet.

I had zero nausea...but two of the ladies had a rough time with nausea. I'm up and about now at the Marriott trying to sip sip sip Water.

I can 100% recommend Dr Garcia and his team. I would send any of my family members there.

*raises nauseous hand* I was one of those ladies that had nausea real bad the first 24 hrs, everyone was great. They communicate a lot prior to surgery and after. Dr. Garcia has the best smile it puts you at ease right away. You can't go wrong with this team.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
