Ok, I can top y'all :P

I'm 55 and have been looking forward to menopause for almost thirty years. Over the last year I actually stopped my TOM and thought I was to enter into the never-have-another-period-again stage in life. BUT OOOOOH NOOOOO.. That wasn't to be for me! I'm three months post-op and guess whose had three periods. Go figure!

:D

I would suggest you may want to call your gynecologist. I stopped my periods for a year and then started bleeding again and so they wanted to do a uterine biopsy. at our age they want to just make sure the bleeding isn't some other cause.

actually I'm a month out as of yesterday and when I went to the hospital for my surgery, i started my period. before then, my period was a bit funky, just spotting and not regular, but low and behold, my period showed up Monday right on time and unusually heavy. so i think the only thing is probably that it's heavier than usual for me. it showed up on time surprisingly. made me gain a kg too ㅠㅠ

Well it came today and let me tell you all it is kicking my sleeved butt!! I feel bloated and gross and for the first time I want to eat all the time and want sweet and crunchy!! It is weird!! But I am holding on reminding myself it might be a kind of head hunger or something!! sugar free hot chocolate gave me a sweet treat!

I have stayed the same weight for the past three days!! Which in my opinion is ok because I didn't gain!!!

Definitely! At the time of my surgery I was 53 and for the year prior my periods had dwindled to nothing and I was certain I was almost finished. A month after surgery and I had a regular period complete with cramps and have had one every month since. I am one year post op on the 30th of this month. Due to some menopause symptoms also I have been struggling lately and have been on a long plateau. I was a slow loser from the start though so knew this would happen. My surgeon told me it was very common for the surgery to change your cycle.

Today was much better with the cravings!! I am sure it was not all in my head!! They were intense yesterday!! But ugh I feel awful this cycle... Bloated and gas....heavy and cramps!! I hope this is just a rough month with all the changes in my body!!!

I was due yesterday and was sure it was coming since I was up on the scale all week but....no sight of it. My surgery would have been right around ovulation time so I'm guessing that the trauma from that probably delayed my ovulation which will lead to a longer cycle than normal. I am normally like clockwork.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
