Hello, Going through this journey is hard for me. When I was a teenager I was super skinny and ate anything I wanted, Stayed that way till I was in my 20's and thought it would last forever. When I started having kids is when the weight start to stacking on. When I was pregnant I never had morning sickness but the cravings were there and thought since I was pregnant I would just eat everything I craved without question. After Kid #1 I lost a lot of the weight back off but had an extra 10lbs. after kid #2 3 years later I got heavier during pregnancy and kept another 20lbs on. Not to bad at that time. Got pregnant 3 months after giving birth to #2 and was on to #3. #3 gained another extra 20lbs so went from 125 -135(kid #1) to 155(after kid #2) to 175 after kid # 3. Then had a 4th child after 3 years and was staying at 190. Not too soon after that I had to have an emergency herniated disk surgery. I lost feeling in my left leg and pain in back was so extreme right before surgery. After Surgery I found out I had premature degenerative disk disease. Surgery had me not moving so stayed at a steady 210. Had to have another back surgery 2 years later and went between 220-230. Every time I tried to exercise I would blow a disk so it was very frustrating. Now at 42 I got to my highest at 278 and had to do something. The extra weight on my knees and back was causing more health issues and I was now on that damn cpap machine too. Started having high blood pressure, no stamina to dance(this is how I use to relieve stress) and my cholesterol was getting high. I do not even take pictures anymore or want to look in the mirror. Trying on clothes just depressed me and my confidence was gone. I would eat when I got depressed. Then feel worse about eating it later. I love food. Loved trying new things but it was taking over my life. I also used food as a shield to keep from getting attention. I gained weight less people noticed me and I recently realized I was sabotaging myself on purpose before. Now I am on a new journey to understanding my relationship with food and want to be healthy again and not afraid to take pictures even for my kids. I had my sleeve put in March 12th by Nick Nicholson in Dallas, TX at Forest Park Medical Center. I have gone fro 273- 263 in the first week of post op and hope to make steady strides towards a healthy future,
