Was able to eat 2 hard shell tacos today... Is that considered a lot?

Recommended Posts

Yesterday marked 2 months post op for me... I am down 51lbs since surgery day. I have busted my ass working this weight off since 1 week out. To Celebrate I picked up 2 hard shell supreme tacos from taco bell. I was able to eat 1 within the 5 mins drive home and ate the second one about 10 mins later. I was very surprised I was able to eat that much and feel pretty good afterwards. Literally 1 month ago my wife came home with taco bell, I took 2 bites of my wifes taco and was stuffed.

So is this considered a lot of food for 2 months out. The meal was just shy of 400 calories but I am still under for the day but slightly over my carb limit.

I'm 4 months out and I can't quite finish one of them unless I go really really slow. I can't see myself every eating two of them.

Almost 2 years out and I can't eat 2 tacos. One fills me up. I could eat the other one a couple hours later.

I'm 8 mos post op and can eat one soft corn taco And feel full. I could eat a second one hours later, also (2-4hours).

Although...if I'd only eaten sliders like Greek yogurt, cottage cheese and/or Protein shakes, for example, I wonder if I'd be able to eat more. I don't wonder enough to give it a go, mind you :-p

I'm 4 months out but still not eating taco shells, potatoes, bread, crackers or rice. Still can only eat 2-3 oz at a time. A taco sounds wonderful!!

Me too! Im almost 10 weeks out and have gotten a chicken soft taco from Del Taco and ate the "guts" but I was full after one. I think I would puke at this point if I ate the tortilla too even if I was allowed.

Why do you think you would puke?

11 weeks out and there's no way I could eat a whole one.

Gee mike... I think they are all telling you it's a lot

:P

It would be easier to eat a hard shell over a soft shell though.

Only because I have no more room left in my sleeve. Also i have this Idea that the tortilla would expand in my sleeve and it would come back up. I'm sure I'm overreacting but for the moment it keeps me from eating breads, tortillas, grain etc and I'm not allowed those til 6 months out. :)

So I would say look at several things as a man you have a bigger stomach than us women... Yes there is Kirk there... But are we compare Taco Bell to Taco Bell right because a "real" taco could be much different.

Just thinking out loud here

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
