Struggling Eating Meat, HELP!

Recommended Posts

I am am almost 6 months post and I am beginning to not like eating meat. This last past week I had my housekeeper make me some pinto Beans in the pressure cooker. I enjoyed those much better. I also made some tuna and that was much better chicken or beef. Has anyone else went through a phase this far out and what did you do for Protein sources? Did you begin to like meat again? Cottage cheese is hard to get here where I live. I have been off shakes for along time. I eat eggs everyday. Any suggestions are appreciate. Fish is yuck to me too!

I eat steak and fish and chicken all the time. The best way is to keep it moist and eat slower smaller bites cause it's denser and takes longer to ingest!

I don't have a problem digesting, I just am don't like it. I have only thrown up once eating shrimp and that was early on. I have only had slimmies twice early on. I learned quick on how to eat because it was not a nice feeling. But not liking the taste is a new experience for me.

Any desire to become a vegetarian? Might be better to just go with what your body is telling you. Maybe you could research high Protein vegetarian dishes at least for now.

Some people end up not being able to tolerate steak. My nut spoke for a while about this. Just like some become lactose intolerant, some struggle with meats. I'd say, stick to fish, and live with it. Your sleeve has spoken

Yeah never thought about becoming a vegetarian. I will look at some high Protein dish ideas. I don't like fish right now either. I have been tolerating fine. It is the taste that I am not liking. I can tolerate everything I have tried.

I am just wondering if anyone else has gone through this at 6 month mark.

I have similar feelings...meat doesn't appeal to me as much as it used to. I have eaten so many eggs that I don't even like them anymore, I eat Atkins bars for at least 1 meal a day and also get Protein from milk and yogurt. Kashi has a Cereal that is high in protein. One of my favorite meals is Soup, since the meat is in small pieces. Wendy's chili and Chic-Fila chicken tortilla soup work well for me.

Im going through this now, all of a sudden it feels the meat won't digest and it totally upsets my stomach and I end up with high BP. going to all my drs, nobody can find anything wrong, so along with my nutritionist/body builder : just sticking to soft Protein stuff, and eating small ,amounts, I want to eat meat, chicken, hopefully I can one day. and yes if this continues I will be back to drs. I wonder if I was doing too much Protein, as I have always drank a Protein Drink everyday. and now I haven't for a few days..

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
