Ok today was the first day after surgery I felt like I could keep anything down. I had surgery 3/14. So today was day 4 post op. Im starving...this liquid stuff is killing me. Did anyone start eating purees sooner if you felt like you could? If so how was it. I tried some vegtable Soup today and chewed some vegatables really well and seemed to be fine. I just dont wanna do that if its gonna screw with my healing. Let me know what you think. Thanks

After day four I could eat cottage cheese, oatmeal, grits, egg whites, apple sauce. All in 1/4 cup increments.

what has your dr/nut said? They had me on Clear Liquids for 2 weeks, followed by 6 weeks of full liquids...which i'm still on. It's been difficult. Most people end up doing a 2x2x2 diet. 2 weeks clear, 2 weeks full, 2 weeks mushies to softs. I'd kill for some cauliflower and fish at this point.

My nut said to do one week clear liquids and then move on to purees. I seem to be doing well on the liquids but im hungry. I was gonna try to eat some cottage cheese or maybe some vegatable Soup again tomorrow.

My doc only has us eat stained soup and thin cream of wheat or oatmeal, yogurt for 3 days then start soft foods until 8 week then full diet. I never had to do purée at all. I'm 8 weeks out and have not had issues at all.

My Dr said no chunks said to strain. I heard that it is possible to get stuff caught in staple line. Be careful. Creamy Soups r good but strain also.

So yeah all of our doctors are different... You know I even got a different plan than a girl that had it the same day as me with my doc.

Following someone else's plan is probably not a good idea.... Sorry :(

Didn't mean to offend but you said you already ate off off plan and wanted opinions....

I will say that at 4 days out your stomach is still numb so things will not necessarily "hurt"

But can cause damage.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
