Frustrated!!! I have been stalled at the same weight for over a week... kind of feels like I'm going to be this way for good :( I know I'm not but I want my scales to start moving again. Any advice?

Don't weigh yourself every day!!! Stalls happen but the weight loss will start again!

Couple of things for you to remember.

1. Your weight is going to flux 1-2 all the time depending on different things, like is it your time of the month?

You did not gain that weight all at once so you will not lose it all at once. The slower the better, if you can believe that. I lost my weight and I exercised and you cannot ever tell by looking at my skin that I weighed that much

I'm in New Orleans, too - well, Jefferson, actually. Surgery was 11/24/14, the Monday before Thanksgiving. As of 12/23, I'd lost 19 lbs. According to my scale, I've lost another 9 lbs. I haven't been hungry really, but I do crave the taste of some foods - comfort foods, mostly. Things like meat loaf, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese. And I'd love to have a scoop of ice cream - especially Blue Bell Creole Cream Cheese! I haven't given in, and am trying to find things to substitute since I'm having cravings, not hunger.

Any ideas?

Hey ya'll.... Issac from Golden Meadow Louisiana here! Good so see we have a few from our state in the site. Crawfish.... Hate to say this, but I ate crawfish 3 times last week and a whole lot of it!!! But don't start my pre-op diet till today!!! So no more crawfish for me. Not the way I ate them before anyway. No one else would quite understand our passion for getting stuffed eating crawfish, but it's behind me... I hope! I have my surgery on 3/2/15. Dr. Borland in New Iberia. I'm excited about it!!!

I'm a newbie here. Im in Gonzales, LA. I go to my consultation Friday with Dr. Bellanger in Baton Rouge, just wondering if anyone else has worked with him? I'm toying with the idea of going to Dallas to Dr. Kim and having it done. The cost is cheaper for me paying out of pocket and I have family there.

I'm from Louisiana. I am still considering the surgery, but am planning to schedule my first appointment soon. I'll at least call today. Is this forum still open?

Make the call and go to your first visit. If you're just considering it you will have at least educated yourself in the time it may take to get you to have surgery. I called in December 2014 and just had my surgery May 4th. Some ins co make it a requirement to have 6 monthly office visits.

Just do it!!! You have nothing to lose but weight!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
