I'm traveling all the way from New Zealand to Mexico. I'm not worried about the surgery so much as what can go wrong after. I can't find anyone who will insure me to go abroad and have surgery .. I know a leak is the most common problem but I plan to only have liquids till I'm safe back in nz .. Don't want to risk anything. Is there anything else to be worried about? I'm 34 yo and BMI of 30 ... So hopefully on the safe end of having surgery ... Thank you ????

I think my biggest concern with a long flight post op would be a blood clot. You can ask your surgeon what he thinks and see if he thinks you should have preventative treatment before you fly.

Duh, why didn't I think of that lol ... You can get compression socks? And I guess walk around alot on the plane. Hopefully ill be flying business class on the way home so that would be more comfort (fingers crossed on that) yes ill ask the dr for any suggestions - thanks!
