Why cant I "feel" the full feeling before this???? So frustrating.. and yes I have cut back..lol..still happens..I am lucky to get 300 cal in a day :(

It tells me your stomach can't handle 3 oz. Cut it back to 2 oz for awhile and eat more often.

I am 2 days post op. I have a lot of gas today. I have been drinking a Protein Shake, broth and some Water. With the gas pains it is hard for me to be able to tell when I am drinking too fast as I can't tell the difference between which pain is which???

At 8 days out you should not be worried about cals, you should be concentrating on get you Protein in. Protein helps the body, stomach, heal. I know all Dr are different, but mine has us on a liquid diet, Protein shakes, broth, ect., for the first three weeks after surgery. No Soups or pureed food till week 4. I tried a cream of broccoli Soup and it hurt bad, i went right back to shakes. you have to listen to your body everyone is different. Sounds like yours is telling you it’s not ready for the next stage. Go back to shakes for a few days and see how you feel.

Good luck, don’t push yourself to fast.

This is just a simple mistake in what you should be fundamentally looking for as a bariatric patient in regards to what feeling you should be searching for

Your goal should not be to get "full" your goal should be to eat enough to keep you going. Comfortably unhungry, actually.

Pushing your new tummy to absolute capacity isn't the best.

I am not trying to make myself full..I am simply looking for a sign for my body to say STOP.. :( I am sorry if I somehow misspoke.. I am trying to follow my Dr's instructions so everything goes smooth..I really dont know otherwise. If I knew how stop eating when I was comfortably unfull I would have never needed surgery..I only wanted to compare what everyone else is eating or drinking that is new to this..I thought that's what this whole thing was about..Sorry

Just a couple of thoughts....

1 - your stomach has a massive wound and at 8 days... does not feel equipped to tell you its full... Its thinking about healing only

2 - many/most dont feel the full signal until you eat dense Protein. Even if you can drink down a whole shake pretty quickly with no discomfort, those first two ounces of dense Protein will most likely instantly give you that signal youre waiting for

Just be kind to your pour tum for now without making it deal with more than a few ounces at a time. Just keep working the program and it will work for you. Best wishes!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
