It may b because you are swallowing air when u drink. I learned to exhale almost completely the with lungs deflated then swallow. Try it. Hope it helps!

This happens to me too because I can't make myself sip and I take in too much air. It hurts! But the nurses told me not to panic when it happens. The doctor told me eventually my body will adjust itself... Whatever that means.

What r u drinking out of? I normally drink straight from the Water bottle , but I do better, less gas if I drink from a cup... Try that maybe??

I was the same way. The only way i could drink without pain. Even kinda now is using water bottles with sport tops. A lil squeeze into my mouth n i dont get too big a gulp or too much air like i was when i was sipping from a cup.
