Congratulations!! I am 12 days submitted and still no word. Did you find out through insurance or through your surgeon? I have considered calling insurance' date=' but the nurse @ surgery center said to wait, but it is killing me. So excited for you.[/quote']

They must give yoy a reply within the 14day period. So either friday or monday for you. Good luck.

Omg .... I submitted to Aetna on Thursday and was approved yesterday surgery set for the 22nd of April!!!! Ohhh lord thank you!!!

I can't remember Caligirl, did you say if you had any co morbidities? My insurance coordinator was not sure if they (aetna) would want to wait to get my 3rd full month diet report before making decision. Appointment scheduled for the 17th. Will still follow up with her tomorrow. Taking forever and I will be upset if she has received any info and not let me know. It was a week later then they told me when they filed my paperwork. Frustrating.

I have Aetna. I was just denied about 2 weeks ago because I lost weight about 2 years ago through diet and execercise. I have since gained every pound back and then some. My doc is doing a peer to peer review to see if she can get it overturned.

They ask for 2 years history......aetna is a mess... are thay going against there own requirement?????

My advise is be prepared for a denial' date=' so you aren't crushed. I think if you have proof for 2 years, that your BMI was 35+, you will be ok.....BUT you have to have documented proof. If not, that is a loophole they can use. Maybe it will just be a matter of waiting....I hope you get approved...It really shocked me, as I thought I had everything covered. I felt like all the efforts and DR visits over the last few years, were my detriment.

I will be hoping for you!!!! <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />[/quote']

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
