Alright...did yoga, zumba and belly dancing today then walked a mile. Yeaaahhh baby! Im gonna keep mixing it up, the fat has to break lose. Meanwhile Im mad at myself bc the scale shows a lower fat percentage. Silly me...I really do need to pay attention to all the extra numbers popping up on my scale!

Your expenditure says that when you do nothing all day you burn 1900 calories, just doing nothing.

On the days you do nothing, 1200 calories is fine.

If you do deliberate exercise, whatever you burn, you need to eat.

So if you burn an extra 300 at the gym, you need to eat 1500 calories that day.

Why? Because you need to make sure your *net* calories are at 1200 everyday. 1200 - 300 (burnt at the gym) = 900 *net* calories, which will eventually cause your body to believe it's starving, so it's very important you eat back your calories burnt during deliberate exercise.

i found this

makes sense to me

I am a "slow loser " I had my 6 month check up earlier this month and was down 67pounds according to my surgeon's scale(he was very happy with my progress btw). I do not do low carb mine are around 100 Protein about 70. I do not obsess about my food. I am a plain old GROUCH on low carb . I don't care if I would lose faster on lower carbs if it makes me mean. Slower loss for me has been better as far as excess skin I believe :) I acknowledge it may take me the next 6+months to get to my goal of 130 which is 26 pounds away and I will be fine with that >.<

I dont know that I would consider myself a slow loser but the weight loss has certainly slowed down. I am 6.5 months out and down 75 lbs. I've been fluctuating up and down by 3 lbs which is pretty normal. Im feeling good about my success and looking forward to working off this last 50lbs. Yeah!

I'm not being negative....can't anyone disagree with you? Sheesh you're so friggin sensitive.

So here's some information in case you want it. Adding those healthy fats to your diet flushes out your kidneys. Not a good or bad thing' date=' it just is....that will lead to immediate Water loss which MIGHT explain your 4 pound loss. People who go on high fat diets typically have to up their sodium intake to prevent massive Water loss. That's why people on Adkins can lose so much weight so quickly...and even the new Adkins books recommend adding quite a high amount of sodium to the diet to prevent the water loss.

So my point is if you have upped your dietary fat intake monitor your sodium levels. It needs to go up as well.[/quote']

Very important :-)

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
