HELP Stall i cannot get out of!

Recommended Posts

I started my pre-op diet at 244 on 10/25/12 and was sleeved on 11/03/12. I lost fast the frist few months and then came to a DEAD stop on 01/01/13. I go up and down from 198.6 to 196. This is 60 days. I travel a ton for work. I have upped my Protein per my NUT to 100 g per day but it is hard to keep it up without results. I have tried upping my fluids past 64 ounces. I exercise and have switched up what I do, although in truth with all of the travel it has only been 3-4 days per week but when it is it is an hour of cardio and some weights. I am getting so discouraged and cannot see past this stall. I am taking my meds, eating the protein, doing 5-6 meals per day, steering clear of caffeine, etc. ARGH! I lost more on Weight Watchers and didn't pay $13,000. I hear the first 6 months are the best time to lose but I am not getting past this stall and I never see anyone with a 60 day stall this early! HELP!

I'm at an awful stall too. I think I've fallen off the wagon a bit myself. Crazy to even think that I am 10 months out. I had rapid weight loss in the first few months. I'm about 105 down right now, and still some to go. I haven't lost much since about January though. Have you tried myfitnesspal? I found that really helpful and I'm going to start using that again. Whoever said GSV was going the easy way out is DEAD WRONG! Lol. Good luck!

I did the same thing and still haven't lost any more. I'm not sweating it and I'm just going with the flow. I'm doing things right and this is ahella lot easier than WW or even Adkins. Right now I'm ok with just getting healthier and eating right. Makes me feel 100% better. It took me 18 months to gain this weight and I don't expect to lose it over night

Good luck

Not sure if you been keeping up with the inches. It is possible you are creating muscle which could decrease your inches but keep your weight even. The other thing is writing down everything that goes in your mouth. I use myfitnesspal and it is super easy. It helps me keep a handle on what I am consuming and how many carbs, protiens and fats are involved.

Hey I had a stall like that last almost 6 weeks. I even gained 5 lbs during it. Now all of it and more came off. This is what I did, I increased Protein to 100g......cut out protein bars........for whatever reason Protein Bars and those nut bars were stalling me. I cut out sugar and potatoes, like baked potatoes. I found a Protein Drink called Lean Body at The Vitamin Shoppe that has 40 grams. Pepperonis and string cheese can up the protein like 10g per slice of large pepperoni and a string cheese. 4 oz of hamburger is 28 grams. meat sticks are high in protein. If you are truly getting the 100g of protein and Water in every day you will have little room for carbs. The potatoes and protein bars don't cut it because at this point our bodies metabolisms adjust to the low food intake.....they are really sensitive to potatoes, crackers and sugar, that will bog it down. Try it for 4 days and see what happens. Also, are you making sure you are moving and not constipated? A good laxitive that is healthy called Swiss Kriss (herbal and gentle will clear you out).

I am 2 weeks post op and i have not lost anything in 5 days, but since the pre op diet i have lost a total of 19 lbs. My fear is that i will also go a few weeks without the scale moving, but im trying to stay positive and keep myself from stepping on the scale.

Are your measurements changing?

Whatever happens, don't let the scale rule you. Trust the process. The stall will end. :)

... I think I'm going to throw my scale out after my surgery. The only numbers I want to have to worry about exercise and nutrition related.

But dang not having a sale would be hard!

But have you ever been able to say you lost 12lbs in one week before?

If we stay diligent and follow the plan the weight has to come off. Stalls suck but they happen. Track inches when the scale doesn't budge.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
