I didn't have a drain. I see lots of people had one, though. Which side? The one that they pulled the stomach out of (my left side)?

My drain was on my left side and I was sent home with it. It was a ginormous pain in the arse. I took a dosage of pain med (1 oxycodone) about an hour before my dr. appt. I thank God my husband insisted on me taking it. I chatted through the whole thing. Why be in pain if you don't have to?! I am now almost 2 weeks out and if I could just get rid of this ridiculous gas bubbling around my body. ARG!

Speaking of the drain pouch' date=' how do they remove it. Do they just pull it out and what about the hole left afterwards? I cant wait for it to be removed.[/quote']

Oh my I didn't have any drains thanks heavens my pain was associated with where my band port was located so it was extremely tender and plus my doc took out fat. What were the drains for? Did everyone have them?

I didn't have the band, I had the sleeve so I'm not sure if all band surgeries do not require the drain or if its at the dr's discretion even with the sleeve but I did have the drain on my right side

Hi Everyone!

I was sleeved on April 30th and doing well. First few days were painful especially where they took my port and band out of. Glad to be bandless!!!! So much easier on sleeve. Protein Shakes are no problem getting down with liquids. I just want to start with eggs soon. I see my NUT on Wed. Still in Stage 2 I am going to try cream of chicken Soup for dinner.

Can anyone tell me how to find the FB page and can I bee added? mtpatter@me.com

Hey I have some questions about eating.. I was sleeved on the 30th... I am suppose to eat puréed food 4 to 6 times a day 2 Protein Shakes and 48 ounces of water... And I'm having a hard time eating and drinking all this...so far today I had 2 ounces of egg beaters 1 Protein Shake and about 10 ounces of Water ... I really am afraid that I will dehydrate... I just don't feel like eating or drinking... My starting weight was 278 now I'm 254. I also don't want to hit a plateau either :(

Can you do broth? That counts as a liquid and so does sugar free Popsicles.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
