I had surgery last year (partial hysterectomy) and was given morphine it only seemed to work for 20-45 minutes then wore off, the nurses seemed surprised and asked me if I did drugs recreationally...uh.... NO I do not. lol
Also the oxycontin doesent really do to much to me either. They gave me something in place of the morphine that really worked like I believe it should have but I cant remember the name of it I want to say Toradol. But I looked that up and its just an anti inflamatory.
Has anyone taken Toradol in place of morphine?
I want to talk to the Dr about this before my surgery so that I am not worried she will give me morphine and then I will just suffer.
Any ideas of alternatives?
I have the unfortunate problem of having a low tolerance for pain and a high tolerance to supposed powerful pain meds...just my luck
