Has anyone doc ever handwritten the letter if medical clearance for the insurance company or surgeons office? Im nervous!

I never needed anything from my pcp. In fact they day I got approved is the day I told her I was going to have the surgery. I think if you have a good sugren and good insurance coordinator you should be golden. What insurance do you have?

Are you talking about the letter of medical necessity? Everyone who has this surgery has to have this letter(unless you are a self pay). All this is a letter stating that you need this surgery because of your weight and co-morbidities, etc. In short it just explains why it is medically necessary for you to have the surgery.

I don't know? Now days who writes anything It doesn't matter however, as long as the Insurance company has it with your file you should be good to go.

I don't have a PCP. I am going to submit without a letter, it's not required by my insurance. I have chart notes showing my weight over the last 6 years. I hope that's enough. It's all handwritten. I don't see why it would matter if a letter is written vs typed.
