I must say that i am able to eat anything just in moderation. I think because of allergy season i am becoming more nauseated with the increased mucus production but other than that, i am goid to go. I have eaten bread but sont prefer it along with eice and Pasta. I have it and then i let it go. Salads, chicken, seafood and fruits and peotein bars have been my friends. 80+ grams Protein a day!

To all who struggle with water intake. I went and bought a hydration bookbag fron Walmart. $20 bucks. 67 oz. Strap it on your back and sip all day long!

Good to go:-)

I know this is the same song and dance posted over and over again but just need to rant. Sleeved the 14th. Between preop diet and post diet March 2 was down 26 lbs. Yeah me. Here it is April 6 and still at the same 26 lb loss. I'm drinkin 40-60 oz of Water, getting my Protein (at least 60-80), only eating a little every 2-3 hours(not grazing), making everything I eat so I can keep an eye on carbs and fat. WTH, nut told me at 4 week checkup I'm doing everything right and I will go through stalls and some people have stalls that last a month or more, but really. Again sorry for the rant but I am beyond frustrated. I had the lapband and lost 30 then put 20 back on. Now the same ppl at work are giving me the so sorry look. UGHHH!!!

How many calories r u eating?

Between 600-800. Try for more but just can't eat that much unless I go for unhealthy foods.

I bought a lot of fresh fruit and Protein Bars and yes some of the dreaded shakes. But i only use them when im on the go all day. Prepare tour next days meals at night with my fitness pal. Youd be surprised how fast healthy foods too van add up to the good calories and keep you full at that.

You could also find a buddy and meal plan togethet. It van take the edge off

Update - I'm home from the hospital thank God no surgery required. I was severely de hydrated I stopped drinking fluids on Monday I would take little sips here and there but not enough. The reason I wasn't taming down fluids is because it would give me that gurguling sound not good when you are at work. The doctor did a contrast ct and a stomach X-ray everything looks good. He put me back on phase 1 until I feel well enough to eat again. I just can't eat or drink I need to figure something out. He also said as my stomach heals it gets tighter so that is part of what I'm going through he also said try to eat a little piece of something every hour to see if that helps. Ugg this sucks! I was doing great now this. Hope its a temporary thing. I that k God it was not worse.

I'm so happy to hear your on the road to feeling better!!! ;)

I am 6 weeks out today .. down 21.5 ....... ONLY.

sad thing is that prior to the surgury I would have though that this was a GREAT weigh loss- however' date=' after surgery and reading posts on this sight, I feel like its not enough and I must be a failure. I am doing something wrong.... someone posted ave weight loss after 1 month is 24% .... HA ... I lost a lil more than 10 %.

I have been eating about 1000 calories and burn about 250-300 calories a day 4 times a week with excersize. I would have thought I would be more successfull, maybe I need to go down to 800 cal and excercise the same amount.

I don't know ... its discouraging ...... they say don't compare yourself to everyone else... easier said than done <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

Maybe I need to throw away the scale and read different types of posts for a while - What do you guys think ?[/quote']

I think it's SO very important not not compare your loss to others. With that being said, I KNOW that's easier said than done. I was sleeved 6 weeks ago and I'm almost down 20lbs. I look posts from people sleeved the same day, as they are down 30 lbs or more! I just try to remind myself that my journey is different than theirs. There are many different factors as to why we lose at different rates. Just keep doing what you are doing... It's not a race. ;)

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
