Recommended Posts

I just got called this morning to be at the hospital tomorrow at 5:30AM I am so nervous !!!

That's awesome! I am 10 days post op! First 4 days were the hardest, i kept thinking why did i do this to myself? What was I thinking??? I took no pain meds after 2:00 pm on the day of my surgery, once I was awake to tell my nurses to stop pushing it!!! Had nausea for first 4 days, but had meds that took it away!! No gas pains as I was up and walking a.s.a.p. ice chips and Water are all I really drank in the hospital, a little Decaf tea! I have lost 25 pounds!! 9 pre-op on my 6 day liquid diet and 19 post op! So I'm super excited about the results so far from 250 down to 225! Yay!

I just didn't need it the pain was tolerable and I usually get a lot of nausea with pain meds, so I would rather be a little uncomfortable than nausea's.

I really thought I would go back in less than a week but no you need atleast a good full week to 2 weeks. I go back to work monday and next wednesday would be 2 weeks from my surgery. You need time to heal and regroup and learn the drinks and your intake, because its truly a Huge life change.

I also have two weeks off.. Go back next Tuesday and still am moving slow and can't bend over very well without getting a sharp pain in my lower left side just above my bellybutton. So I'm nervous that I didn't take enough time off. Plus I am tired a the time.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
