  1. I was sleeved on March 29th, in my 4th week. Lost 13 lbs since surgery and a total of 30lbs all together. It's not coming off fast but it's coming off and I'm happy with that. I also use fitness pal to keep track of my food and water intake. Plus it helps me make sure I'm getting enough protein. Can't wait to start working out. Tired of just walking. Everyone seems to be doing well. Has anyone felt emotional about the changes? I know last week was tough for me kind of mourned my old life! Back on track this week but this is far from an easy journey. I don't write much very busy but enjoy reading everyones' posts.
  2. Little bummed only lost 6lbs in the last two weeks since surgery. Considering what I have eaten or haven't eaten thought that it would be more. Also have been walking an hour a day since Friday. Seems like the last week I've lost like nothing. Last day of full liquid. Tomorrow I start on pureed. Well hopefully things will speed up.

  5. Day 9-Back to work. Little rough but made it through! Gonna be a long week! 2 more lbs down. Really ready to have food but not until Friday. Walking for the last 3 days 50min-1hour. Can't wait to get back to working out and having energy! Hope everyone is doing well!

  9. I was sleeved on March 29th. Went to my first post-op Dr.'s visit on April 4th. Lost a total of 4lbs since surgery but am down a total of 21 lbs total with pre-op diet. On full liquid diet. Have a hard time with that some things just don't go down well. Yesterday I threw up because after walking I drank water too fast. ? Should you wait 30 min between full liquid and water? Not sure? Going back to work tomorrow. Not sure if I'm ready but unfortunately I need to. Hoping I do well.

  11. Day 5. Feeling much better. Stomach sore but gas is mostly gone! Went and got my hair cut, colored, and highlighted today. Did well though it was a little tough sitting up from getting hair washed. Felt good to have it done. Needed a pain pill when I came home though. Follow up apt with Dr. tommorrow and then on to full liquids on Friday! Can't wait!

  14. Much better today, less gas. Haven't taken any pain med. Only gave me ultram anyhow so it wasn't that great! Not bad though. Just don't feel I really need it yet today! Everyone has been saying day 5 is the turning point. This is day 4 for me so hoping will even be better tomorrow. @ Deenurse-I only took off 9 days! Had to do it during spring break. We only get 6 days and I took an extra 3 sick days off. Working as a school nurse I don't do lifting so hopefully I'll be okay. Worst comes to worst I will take a few more sick days! Not like I ever take them! I personally think I would be better off with 3 weeks off but you gotta do what you gotta do! I will not be returning to my per-diem position at the hospital for at least 4 weeks! Too much lifting possibly longer depending on what the Dr. thinks.

  17. Hi all! I have been a nurse for 20 years. 4 years med-surg, 16 years labor & delivery and for the last 7 years have worked as a school nurse. I still work per-diem as a L&D nurse. I was sleeved on Friday, March 29th. Little scary but glad I'm on the other side. Great to have a support group like this with nurses. Glad I found this forum!

  20. Wow that was rough! First day posting since surgery! First two days were rough and that barium swallow test was awful. Came home from hospital by 4pm next day surgery was at 12:45pm. Didn't quite feel ready on Saturday to be home. As a matter of fact I called the Dr. about 3 or 4hrs after getting home cause I thought I was having a heart attack. The pressure in my chest from the gas was so bad. He reasurred me and I was able to relax. Things are getting better day by day. I hope all my March sleevers are doing well! Thank God I'm on the other side of the rode!

  22. Well today is the big day!! Have to be at the hospital at 11:15am so I guess my surgery is around 1:00pm. Way more nervous than I thought I would be. Doesn't help that I have to sit around and think about it! Just want to get it done and over with!! Best of luck to all my fellow March 29th sleevers. See you on the recovery side!!
  23. Hi everyone I am new to site but am also a March 29th sleever. Was originally going to have a band but changed my mind about 2 weeks ago. Nervous but trying not to think about it too much. That's why I'm on here right? LOL! Good luck to all. Praying I make it home to be with my children for Easter!

  26. New to site recently decided to change from getting a lap band to a sleeve. Will be sleeved on Friday, March 29th. Good luck everyone!
  27. Well my surgery is scheduled Friday, March 29th but I had a change of heart a few weeks back and decided to change to the vertical sleeve. My decision is personal and what I believe is going to be best for me. Scary though!! I struggled with this from my first appointment in October but anyhow I am excited for the change and looking forward to this journey. Just wanted to say good luck to each and everyone of you in your weight loss journey. I will be moving on to sleevetalk.com. God Bless!

  29. Thank you to everyone for posting about their surgeries and pre-op diets. I don't have much time during the week to write much. 2 weeks 6 days until my banding. I have been doing the protein shakes for two weeks on my own. Two a day and then dinner. Lost 5lbs so far. Will officially start on Friday but will have to get strict with dinner. Been snacking a bit but staying around 1100 cal will need to decrease to 800. Hope everyone is feeling well and thank you to those who helped me with the ticker. Have it on my profile but I'm not sure if it's showing up with my post. If there is a trick to that can someone left me know. Do I need to cut and paste?
  30. I just went through the same thing trying to make a decision between the two. I was set on a lap band when I went to the doctor for my first visit in October but he immediately tried to talk me out of it and has done so every visit since. He also talked to me about band with plication. I've been thinking about lap band for 3 years and researching it. I do know a few people who have had both done and my sleeve friend tried to also talk me out of the band. In the end I decided to stick to my original decision because it is what is best for me and what I can mentally deal with. I will do everything that I need to do to make it work and go from there. Scheduled to be banded on March 29th. It is a personal decision that after research you have to make on your own!
