Why does myfitnesspal lie to me?

Recommended Posts

This damn thing has been saying that i will weigh 124 in 5 weeks with my current intake, and I have been in a stall for 3 weeks and counting! I think the only way I will weigh 124 I cut off my right leg, maybe my left too :D

Sure does. So, if it lies about what my weight will be, do you think it's lying about a spicy chicken sandwich from Wendy's having 270 calories with no bun or mayo? I will kill somebody, as I have been craving one since my pre-op diet, and told myself I could have ONE at 6 months if I was a good girl. SIx months is here and I have passed my surgeons 18 month goal (by 1 pound lol)

It's my cookie dammit'

LOL. That thing is EVIL. I giggle every time I click the "finished for the day" button and it tells me. I've been using that thing for forever and it has yet to be right ;)

I quit using MYFITNESSPAL recently for exactly that reason. I stalled for over 3 weeks during the holidays, and finally quit logging into "PAL", planned my menues and stuck to them and finally started loosing again. I track everything on a spreadsheet now and made my own graphs in EXCEL.

I am eating more Protein (fish) and fresh veggies and very few carbs and have found the "sweet Spot" again.............for me about 800 calories.

My 90 day follow-up was a 6#/week loss, so the surgeon was ok with that, but I wanted a greater loss......

I even avoided my annual order of 6 cases (yes, I said six cases, part of the reason for the weight problem) of Girl Scout Cookies this year (that was one dissappointed little neighbor)...........now just have to avoid those cute little lurkers at the mall when they set up the tables next month!!!!!!!!!! I want a THIN MINT..............but I got off topic.......I wonder if MFP has Thin Mints listed.............LOL

My brain read boxes then I did a double take at case! How many boxes are in a case? Thin mint is the ONLY girl scout cookie that matters!!!!!!

8; 10; or 12 depending on the cookie. We would buy them and freeze them to eat ll year long, or at least 6 months.

Ya I've been using it for a year and it was never evn close. I'm pregnant now so I suppose that's why I haven't been loosing much (at 9 months pregnant I don't expect to drop a ton of weight lol).

But even when I was only eating 900 call a day (I haven't been sleeved yet) it would say I'd weigh 265 in 5 weeks (I was 285 at the time) and I ate only 900 cals for about 2 1/2 months straight and only got down to 272.

40 calories per thin mint, 5.5 carbs, .2 Protein. 2 fat. Don't ask how many calories in a case. Yes this is from pal

Wow that's a lot of calories for just 1 cookie. No wonder they taste so good. So there's 24 Cookies in a box, 12 cookies per package. I easily ate 1 pack in a sitting so that's 480 calories!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
