Getting Sleeved 1-29-13

Recommended Posts

I have a sharp pain at one of the incision sites. On the 3rd day after surgery I bent over and picked up my cat. Now if I move around much or certain ways it hurts like crazy. The other incision sites aren't sore at all. I hope I'm just worring too much.

Everyone has 1 incision more sore than the others and that's the one they pull your stomach out of. But a pulled internal isn't anything to really worry about, it just adds a bit to your healing time. Ice/heat and pain killers. And the internal stitches usually cause a burning feeling. You should be fine :)

Thank you. I'll try the ice or heat.

YAY! 3 weeks out for all of us today! I've lost 18 lbs so far. 14 of which came the first week (WOW!) and I've slowed down and even hit a stall during week 2. I weigh everyday and sometimes I'm even up a pound or so. I'm going to try to only weigh once a week but that's so hard to do LOL! I'm eating soft foods and doing well. I hadn't got sick from anything I've tried but today I had tuna from the can with a little light mayo - those couple bites I had tasted so good but as soon as it hit my tummy I was SICK! I held it together and it passed but it was rough! I had tuna just a few days ago and it was fine! Weird, but I guess it's part of the process. On week 4 I can introduce all foods back into my diet - hoping that goes better than the tuna did! I want a piece of chicken!

3 weeks and 21 pounds later, I almost feel normal again.

This morning when I woke up, without thinking about it, put my hands to my face and realized my face felt different! I could feel my face instead of so much soft fat. I can't wait for all the changes (good & bad)!

I've lost a total of 13 lbs since surgery which was week later now I been on a stall since. I do feel my face and body losing inches. My doctor told me to stop weighing myself and concentrate on fitting into clothes and lose inches. I'm on 600 calories a day and workout cardio twice a day 5 times a week for the past week.

I have lost 28 lbs since surgery date. I am not working out yet but I will start next week. I'm on mushy food now and I have been fine. I have not vomited or been nauseas. The only thing is that I have not gone to the bathroom in like 4 days! That is the only annoying thing!

Heck I still have hard time getting more than 10 min on treadmill. But I feel myself slowly losing.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
