Water hurts to drink

I'm having trouble just drinking. I take medicine and I'm doing okay with the thicker fluids. Two tsp at a time of elexer doesn't hurt but a sip of Water or propel hurts. Will this get better? Should I try warm water or tea or broth instead?

Post-op day four I was allowed cream of wheat, yogurt, and creamy Soups that are strained 1/2 cup every 3 hours. I was told not to do Protein drinks til day 7 - I'm looking forward to tomorrow :) I like Protein Drinks - they fill me up and I feel like I'm eating a lot of foods high in carbs right now. The protein will increase my energy.
