Does anyone have any thoughts or information on drinking Kombucha tea. I'm 10 months down, feel great, lost all my weight, just looking for a healthy immune system booster. I have a friend who hooked me on The Wild Root (root beer flavor) Kombucha tea yesterday. It is essentially an all natural fermented Probiotics. I loved it and felt great after having one. It has a similar apple cider vinegar carbonation though. It has a carbonated taste I think bc of the fermentation process. It bubbbles a little and foams at the top when opened. Is that the same as regular carbonation issues. I experienced no pain but also haven't had any carbonation. Thoughts? THX!

I love kombucha and I hope that I can have it again someday, so I'm interested to see what others think.

I take TINY TINT sips and drink a bottle over the course of three days to make sure I'm good.

It takes me four days to drink a bottle but I love it. I'm a huge believer in this product. When I drink it I don't crave junk. I have energy. I love the ones packed with chia seeds.

I've never heard of this type of tea. What are the benefits of it? Thanks!

I tried it but can't tolerate it because of the carbonation.

Sadly I can't tolerate it post sleeve. I've tried. Different people have different tolerances though!

My nutritionnist actually told me Kombucha is good for you post-sleeve if you can tolerate the carbonation. It's only a little foam though and when I asked about the no carbonation rule, she said that with all it's benefits, Kombucha is one carbonated drink that's worth the carbonation... If you see what I mean?

I like the Lemon Ginger flavor - a little spicy and sour at the same time. It does have a little fermented/vinegar-y flavor that I don't love, and the carbonation does bother my sleeve a bit, but I do enjoy drinking it. It's not a calorie-free drink, though, so be aware!

I have indulged this simple pleasure since 3 weeks after surgery. 4ozs is about all I can take. First thing in the morning on an empty sleeve. Sip it or you'll spray it. Cayenne Cleanse and the Lemon Ginger are my faves.

You can let it go flat before drinking it if you can't tolerate the carbonation. Another alternative is to brew your own. It's fun, and allows you to completely control the amount of carbonation as well as the length of the ferment. A longer fermentation time increases the amount of pre- and probiotics, and decreases the amount of sugar leftover after fermentation.

There are many online resources on how to make your own, and you can even buy a high-quality SCOBY on Amazon. It costs very little to get started, no more than $20-$25, and you can drink your first batch in 5-10 days. I brew my own, using fresh fruits and herbs as flavoring during the second ferment, and an 8oz serving costs just under 23 cents. Measured with a brix refractometer, it contains less than 1 carb (the SCOBY utilizes all of the sugar during longer ferments, but this also makes the drink more sour, which may be an acquired taste). I also make kombucha Jello and gummies with agar agar powder, and add Protein Powder after the mixtures have cooled but before they start to set. Tasty, super healthy, protein-packed energy shots!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
