Port pain...why and how to stop it

Hey guys I've been wondering. Why do our ports bother us? Sometimes I think it's because I eat too much but I haven't over eaten today (at all) and it's still bothering me. I have plans for tonight and don't want to be hindered by my port bothering me. How do you guys stop it from hurting? I keep thinking maybe it's inflamed muscle but we can't take any antiinflamitory drugs...

Where is your port located? Mine is on the upper ab wall on my right side. If I do lots of ab exercises, it used to hurt or feel sore because the muscle is sore. Now that I've lost more weight, I find it bothers me when I wear an underwire bra. If it keeps bugging you, bring it up with your doc!!
