1 week post surgery and wondering ...

When will I stop sounding like a Water cooler? My insides are in a constant state of moving liquid and air.

Today was actually the first day I wasn't feeling so hot and I felt like I had a ton of bricks on my chest. Did I take in too much yesterday? I don't even know how to describe the discomfort.

Is it normal to take a small sip and then have to wait for an air bubble to make its way up before the chest tightness goes away?

Sounds like what you are experiencing is the releasing of the co2 used during your surgery. Try a heating pad or someone else suggested shoulder rolls. Walking also helps. Just keep on going the end result is worth it.

I have been walking 1-2 miles every day since I came home from the hospital and using a heating pad... When does this usually go away?

Like Momw said it is probably the Co2 expelling. Like she said walking is key, deep breathing, make the most of any toots that come! It will go away. You will feel better. Also stick to baby sips, I can feel a drink of Water go all the way down if I have too big a sip. when I eat I use baby spoons and a tiny bowl to hold just the amount I am supposed to eat on my plan which is 1/4 cup right now. It reminds me how much I can handle and then still chew the heck out of it. I think this is a good use of the "tool" part of the sleeve and letting it heal and keeping it small will optimize weight loss.

The air bubble thing happened to me. 3 plus weeks out now, and it isn't nearly so bad! It will get better, just fight through it for a few days :)

I am 7.5months out. When I stop making noise, I'll let you know.

Really it has gotten considerably quieter, but still much more than pre op.

Perhaps we just need to always stand near Water coolers while in public!

I gurgle like a fountain when I drink. I hope it's not as loud as I feel it is >.>

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
