I'm praying I can still tolerate sushi post open. I LOVE it. I told my husband we'll order a boat, I'll have like 4 pieces and he gets the rest. ;)

I love seaweed salad!! I am almost 5 weeks post op and can tolerate it just fine. I, like many others, still can't handle the rice. Also no cucumber or other raw veggies. I just order the fish (eel) I like and have it wrapped in seaweed paper with some eel sauce and maybe a little cream cheese.

I love sushi! I ate it when my nut cleared me for all food. I have never had a problem with it. I can only eat a few but they sure are awesome!

I was cleared for sashimi (not sushi) at the start of week 4 and it went down very easily and stayed down. Couldn't eat very much of it but what I ate was delicious.

Yahoo!!! Today my husband and son skipped work/ school and we took advantage of the clear weather and took a walk on the beach. Then we had sushi!!! We haven't gone since my surgery and that is the only thing we have when we go out to eat.

It was awesome no problems

I had one order of salmon sashimi with tons of wasabi.

The only weird thing is having so little, it just looks funny... :)

I love sushi and really wanted to try it for my birthday last week. I'm 2 months post op. I was able to have salad (I LOVE the ginger dressing so much!) ate half of it. And about 3/4 of an Alaska roll. Was soooooo good!! The rice does sit a little heavier then other foods but I was personally able to tolerate it. I thought I had eaten a lot but thought back to my pre op days where I could eat 4 rolls and realized how much I love my sleeve. And I don't feel deprived one bit :)

I've had it twice now! LOVE IT! I've only eaten one piece both times- once at Hibachi and once at Texas De Brazil.

I had edamame and most of a shrimp shumai appetizer last night. It was really good! I could only eat about 1/2 of the edamame.

If you do the fish only without the rice ( sashimi)

It will go down better. Sushi rice has sugar and could be yucky on your tummy I would think...

I'm a little over 4 months out. I eat sushi all the time. If I get a roll I ask them to make it with less rice. Just so I can actually eat more of it. I will eat 3-4 pieces of it depending on how prissy my stomach is being. I've been eating sushi (rolls/sushi/sashimi) since a little over two months out.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
