is sleeve healthy or starvation?

So I am 5 days away from consult appointment to b sleeved n it seems like everyone is trying to talk me out of it..friend today who is licensed nutritionist told me that ppl lose weight w sleeve because they are starving themselves and its not healthy..any feedback? I'm still stuck on getting it but want to make my point w him..

I dont think its starvation because our stomach is altered, why eat so much when the stomach is so small? Its supposed to be about eating for survival, not starvation

Also, would the term 'starvation' still apply when we consume x amt. of protein, vit. and min. supplements and water/liquids? We are not depriving our bodies of these viral components, the calorie restiction does seem low and extreme but I've haven't felt this much energy in years and am being told I look much younger than my 50+ years. If I was starving myself, I doubt I could make those claims.

In order to lose weight, you have to reduce the number of calories you consume. How does your friend define starvation? 1200 calories a day? 1000 calories a day? Where is the line?
