December sleevers! hows your progress coming along?

Recommended Posts

Sleeved December 13. I am with everyone who says the Protein Drinks are terrible. I've tried several, and just keep choking them down in order to keep my Protein up. I have tried adding different things to vanilla, and some of them seem to help. It is just so sickly sweet that I can't stand it. However, a 1/2 teaspoon of cocoa (cooking, unsweetened) takes the edge off, as does about the same amount of Decaf instant coffee. Makes it a little bit easier to take. Good luck all. I will say that it gets easier. I'm still having trouble with getting all my liquid and protein in, but less trouble the farther out I get from surgery.

i was sleeved on the 20th of December and am 2 weeks post op! It is a real struggle getting all my liquids and Protein in. I'm barely getting all my liquids and maybe a fraction of my protein. I have found a shake that seems to go down a bit easier: Premier Protein shakes. They are at costco and are literally saving my life lol. I also struggled with Constipation. Today is the first I've had a BM since surgery. Getting better though. 21 pounds down in 2 weeks. I won't compain!!!

I was sleeved on December 12th and have also struggled with Protein. Am now getting in 1 costco Premier (30 g) and a half bottle of Isopure (20g) in addition to the small amounts in broth. Wasn't losing much post op but have hit 1 pound a day x 3 in a row now. Thanks to all who encouraged me between week 2 and 3. Tracking my intake on "myfitnesspal" is definitely helping me. It is so easy and has the nutritional info for Protein Shakes and even exercise info from my Wii fit. Down 13 post op now. Not as much most but I know it will keep coming off!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
