handle an upset stomach? not after surgery nausea

How do you handle an upset stomach? I don't mean after surgery nausea. I mean other times your stomach is upset. Before my surgery, if my stomach was upset, I could take pepto bismal tablets or sip ginger ale. I am doing well at giving up soda and my doctor said no pepto bismal. What can I do now?

You can try a little fresh ginger. I had many upset stomachs before surgery and drank Ginger Ale as well to soothe my stomach. I was also a pop junky. All that is over fr me. I haven't had that issue since surgery but I plan to try a little fresh ginger if I do. It is the ginger in the ginger ale that soothes your stomach.
