  1. Everyone at work keeps telling me my work ID doesn't even look like me since I have lost over 100 lbs. I am going to keep it so it reminds me of where I have been. I just renewed my license on line.. In 2 years I will have to go to DMV to get a new picture. I will wait until then.
  2. I am almost a year out and had extremely thick hair. I started losing it about 8 months and it won't stop thinning. I am so upset since it is getting thinner and thinner. I shed all day. I hope this stops soon. I have lost 105 lbs now. I take my Vitamins and my Protein. I hope it stops soon and grows back!
  3. Mine started thinning about 6 months out. It didn't clump but definitely falling out. I wasn't good about my protein supplements or vitamins previously. I am definitely getting them ALL in now. I heard it eventually stops and grows back. I wish it would hurry up and grow back.

What are you looking forward to doing?

    1. Walking into a regular store and being able to fit what I like. 2. Being in my seat only on an airplane without an seat belt extension. 3. Being picked up by my boyfriend and carried. 4. Keeping up with my teenager. 5. Borrowing clothes from my daughter.
  6. Oh my goodness my hair is thinning!!!!! I read previous blogs where people were having this problem. I had my surgery in August 2012 and I can tell my hair is thinner. I started taking Biotin but how much should I take. Will this hair loss ever stop and if so WHEN?????
  7. I am sorry to hear about your trouble with your sleeve. I would DEFINITELY go to anothe physician. Seems like that one really messed up. Good luck to you I am sure you will find someone good and then make the other one pay for it! You may need to venture out of your immediate area since all the bariatric surgeons probably know each other.
  8. I had reflux prior to my surgery and took Nexium. My surgeon took me off Nexium immediately after surgery. I now take pepcid twice a day and I don't eat or drink before bed. If I am thirst I take a couple of sips of water.
  9. I think you may have tried bread too soon. I am not a bread aholic so I didn;t have any for about 3 months.

It Seams That My Weightloss Has Stoped

I am 5 months out and in a 2 week stall. I am glad I read this because I was getting very nervous about not losing anymore. I have increased my exercising since I really haven't been that dedicated to exercise until I hit the stall. It can be very depressing. I even decreased my food intake and increased my protein intake. I hope I get past this soon!

    Anyone Getting Cold since surgery?

Yes! I am always cold. especially my hands and feet. My feet would get cold easily before surgery but never my hands. Now I am always cold. I still sweat while exercising but not as much.
  12. Sleeved 8/23 (pretty close to September and down 62 lbs.

    When does eating stop hurting?

Make sure you are chewing everything well. I still feel discomfort when I am full. Make sure you have enough time to eat. I was in a hurry to eat one day to get to a meeting at work on time. I ended up being late for the meeting because I had to vomit. Take your time eating and chew your food well. You should be better then.

    Possible leak?

Thanks everyone. I took son simethicone last night and thankful I still had some Lortab left from my post op meds. After I took both I went to bed and this morning it was all gone. I was freaking out last night!
  15. I am having pain under my left rib cage. It is not excruciating, no fever, no nausea or vomiting, no shoulder pain. I am scared to death I may have a leak. Maybe it is gas. I don't know but I am scared. I am 4.5 months post op. Anyone have any insight? Am I just paranoid?

Free Tummy Tuck At Burn Unit

Donation of any body tissue or organs is totally non reimbursable. You are not supposed to be able to have a discounted procedure either. However, I want to follow this post so I can get more information just in case I can have my surgery covered also.
  17. You can try a little fresh ginger. I had many upset stomachs before surgery and drank Ginger Ale as well to soothe my stomach. I was also a pop junky. All that is over fr me. I haven't had that issue since surgery but I plan to try a little fresh ginger if I do. It is the ginger in the ginger ale that soothes your stomach.
  18. I take Centrum Silver chewable and have no problems. The vitamin that made my mouth feel yucky was the B12 sublingual. I changed over to B12 injection once a month and have had no other problems. If you ar not in the "silver" age bracket ( I am 51) then they have the regular Centrum chewable. Bariatric Advantage vitamins are too expensive for me.

    Smoking

I had my surgery 3 months ago and stopped smoking 2 weeks before surgery. 2 weeks ago I had one cigarette, then another, then another, then I threw them away after I had about 8 over the course of 5 days. I know I shouldn't be smoking but I am wanting more. I will try to resist but it is killing me.
  20. I get that feeling also. I am 4 weeks post op and I get that sometime. I am making certain I chew, chew , chew but sometime that happens. Especially with eggs.

    My Last Fat Girl Meal*lol*

I did not have a last meal. My surgery was on a Thursday and my MD did not require any specific diet prior to my surgery. They did request that you not have a large "last meal" the day before surgery.

    Ihop/ 5 Weeks Post Op

I will take your experience to heart. I had my procedure on 8/23 and have had all these cravings. Anything with grease will definitely not be on my list.

    2 Weeks Post Op

Looks like you are doing great. I wasn't a walker prior to surgery so I can't even do 1/2 mile but trying. I was told that gum wold also introduce air, not only be a problem if acidentally swallowed. Good luck!
