All of my December sleevers...

Recommended Posts

Sleeved 12/17, and was a lap band revision. Down from 261.5 to 220. Bought a pair of size 18 pants today! First new clothes, but my best friend threatened to rip my baggy butt pants off me in public. Was a nice fight to have!

Does anyone else get shaky after their first calories of the day? It's like my heart is pounding really hard. No gas or diarrhea, just the shakes. Doesn't seem to matter what I eat first (tuna, Protein Shake, cream of wheat, etc.). Any advice?

I had a rapid heart rate for weeks after surgery (12/6/12) it stopped maybe a few weeks ago dont know what caused it and dont know why it stopped but it did and thank god it use to scare me bad! I thought I had a leak at first but i'm fine now. i am now 12.5 weeks post op. The nurse made me feel crazy when I went in because it got so bad and the doctor only referred me to a cardio specialist (I never went) and glad because it would of been a waste of time. (being that it stopped on its own)

I've had sips here and there without difficulty but never actually bought one for myself. A few sips has been enough to satisfy my craving and didn't notice any discomfort

I did happen to have about 6 sips of my daughters orange soda, at monkey joes today. I was fine with it, no issues. It's nice to know I can enjoy a few sips from time to time but it's not something I want to reintroduce to my diet. Even though I drank diet soda I feel that was a big culprit for my issues with losing weight. I know what you mean though... I do enjoy it so it was nice to see I had no issues at all.

Nancy, 60 lbs!! Wow! That is great....can you share what your daily menu is like? How many daily calories/carbs/protein?

My surgery was 12/21 and I'm down only 30 lbs so I'm always looking for ideas.... congrats!

Without thinking I took a sip of my husbands Coke Zero and I didn't feel pain but it did feel different. In fact, that is what made me realize what I had done -- it felt strange so I stopped and looked and realized it was Coke Zero.

No pain, just slight discomfort. But I have seen posts here from people who do have carbonated drinks occasionally with no problems.

I absentmindedly had a few swigs of my son's soda when we were eating out in January. I didn't have enough to make me feel sick, but as soon as I had done it, I felt a difference in my sleeve. I talked about it with my NUT and what she said is that even if the gas doesn't make you uncomfortable, it is stretching out your stomach. So, proceed with caution.

Ok so I'm having problem about wanting to munch not because I'm hungry but just to keep myself busy ( mouth mostly) any healthy snack ideas! Something I can just grab!

I think it's a great idea to search for healthy snack ideas. I would be careful, however, with mindless eating. If you aren't hungry and are just looking to keep busy, I would suggest an activity other than eating.

I have become obsessed with Silk Soy Vanilla Milk with one scoop of Chia seeds in my shaker cup! It is a nice Protein boost (from the Silk, sometimes I add unflavored protein powder), and you can crunch on the little Chia seeds in the milk. Chia has REALLY helped with Constipation, and it is high in fiber and healthy oils. So that's one snack I have in the evenings.

Nuts are a great grab and go snack - I am not worrying too much about fat/oil, because I eat so little, and I focus on getting in healthy foods first. Also, 1/2 banana is a good grab and go, and very filling.

Good luck!

Do you soak your Chia seeds first?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
