My name us Dawn and I am a 45 year old female 10 days post op . I had surgery December 13th at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Prior to surgery I was 2 weeks on a liver shrunk diet.In my case I am allergic to whey and soy so I cannot really consume protein drinks, though I have found egg white protein that helps. In all I have lost 30 pounds 4 ounces. which includes a gain of 3.4 pounds as of this morning, which was pretty depressing. These first days have been pretty tough with moderate pain that is easy to control with the doctor's help- just do not forget your stool softener or lots of water to prevent constipation. Eating has been difficult in that I am having trouble figuring out what to eat beyond mashed potatoes, sugar free/ fat free pudding and sugar free Popsicles. I did see the surgeon on 12/21 and we discovered I happen to be a gastric sleeve patient that has trouble with consuming cold water. Do not panic- it does happen but does resolve over time!! So getting protein and staying hydrated have both been a problem. I have tried to be active to build stamina and strength. I do not want to get discouraged about the gain, eating or drinking, but it does concern me a bit. I just have so so much to lose. Best wishes toll of you on your journey. I m grateful to have found this film.
