I didnt see Mr Nottles dietician, I believe they are in the same rooms in Willy (so if you could see them on the same day it will save you a trip:) )

I originally was going through another surgeon, and I had to see a physiotherapist as well, dont think Mr Nottle asks for this, but the physician is the one with the biggest wait.

Nope - but I had a bmi of 39-40, so it wasnt necessary. I have heard of other Mr Nottle patients that have had to do the Optifast thing.

The previous surgeon I was with wanted you to lose 10kg, regardless of your starting weight, before your surgery. I must say this threw me into a flap!

that last surgeon sounds like a drongo!!! I really dont want to do the Optifast thing. About 12 months ago i decided to go on it myself.....bad move.... my hair fell out after 3 weeks on it.. seriously i now have really thin hair. I did read that Hair loss can happen on any fast trick diet.

Yes you do need to see a Dietician....when you phone also book in to see the dietician his name is Michael if its still him doing it and then that way you get it all done on the same day when you see peter.

The physician is in williamstown around the corner from Peters rooms and i waited 2 weeks to get in to see him. The physician may send you for a sleep test which i had to do but im not sure if everyone has to do it.

I didnt have to do the Optifast either...so i was wrapped:)

Hey fee.... did my homework!!! Will see Dr Nottle on 12th Feb and then a dietician and the physician on february 14th. The Physician in williamstown is fully booked until the end of March so Dr Nottle's receptionist gave me the name of one in spotswood and i got in much earlier.

Im aware Dr Nottle will send me for blood tests which i will make sure i have that week. have i missed anything?? Is there anyone else i will need to see?? I hope i dont have to have sleep studies... do you know why some people are sent and some arnt?

i think the sleep study depends on if you feel like you could have sleep apnea...which i tho i had as sometimes i wake through the night all jittery and out of breath....he asks questions and i think if he feels you need one he will make you get one done.

Gday Fee and Bronnie, does Dr Nottle require you to pay a fee out of pocket at all after your health insurance? I had to pay $3500.

Fee ,it must feel tops to have lost 40 kg!:clap2: Susannah

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
