In 12 hours, I will be at the hospital for surgery!

Recommended Posts

I'm due to arrive at the hospital at 5:30am, with surgery around 7:30-8am.

I'm ready to get this over with, but really starting to get nervous about complications during surgery. I'm only 34 and have two young kids and a husband that I love dearly. I'm not ready to leave them. I know this is not likely to happen, but it's something I can't help but worry about.

I'm ready for the lifestyle change, the new relationship with food, getting recommitted to exercise, and losing all of this weight. I'm ready to get me back.

Trying to tie up loose ends with work and all of my other obligations tonight. This weekend screamed by. I can't believe it's my turn to post that it's the night before my surgery. I'm not sure how I'm going to sleep tonight, but I'll try.

Wish me luck and I'll check in from the other side!

Thanks!

Hello! Good luck tomorrow! I completely understand how you feel-- I go in Tuesday! I, too, am working tonight to get things tied up (wrapping presents, etc., so I have as little to do AFTER as possible.) And I understand the apprehension. I've got two little ones and another getting ready to go off to college, as well as a hubby I adore, so the pressure is on for everything to go well. But they're a big part of the reason we're doing this.

I'm a little scared of the surgery, but I'm more scared that something will happen to cancel the surgery! :) That's my biggest fear. I guess I've wanted this so long that I can't believe it's actually happening!

You're going to do great, and you're going to come out better than you've ever been. Think about that, and GOOD LUCK TOMORROW!!!

It will be ok. You will do fine!! I know you are nervous as we all were but it is so worth it. Just go in with a good attitude and let them take care of you. Make sure you do everything the Dr. tells you afterward and you should be fine. The real important thing is to make sure you walk and sip. I sipped on half Water and half G2 Gatorade and I never once got dehydrated. God bless!! You are on your way to a new healthy life and it is ALL worth it!! :)

Best of luck to you for surgery. I'll be in the same boat on Wednesday. I'm keeping my nerves under control right now. I hope that lasts. Look forward to hearing how great everything went for you!!!

I just was sleeved last Tuesday, Dec. 4. Don't worry and try to relax. Follow all of your Dr's instructions and let the medical staff take care of you. Take some chap stick because your lips are going to be dry. Take a lightweight easy on/off robe for your walks.

You will do great! Good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
