Take off those regain glasses and turn it around!
Thank you so much. I needed to read this. I've not been on this site in a long time. I lost my husband and a brother to cancer in the last 16 months. I lost a total of 130 pounds and have put back on 35. I had sleeve surgery May of 2012. I remember those honeymoon glasses. Oh how I loved them. Then things started to fall down around me. My husband diagnosed with cancer and died 6 months later. Then my brother 13 months after that. Life is hard but I don't want to go back to 300 pounds. I never thought about things the way you are describing. You have given me hope and a new outlook. So thank you so much. I just have to figure out how to start eating again. I gained this weight by drinking "frappes". I don't eat much even to keep me nourished but the caffeine and sugar in the frappes keep me "up"... I use them for comfort and they are loaded with calories. I want to get back on track. I hope by reading this it can turn me around. Blessings,

Reversal
This is so sad! I had the sleeve on 5/21/12 and have been having issues with GERD and acid reflux, bile reflux and esophageal spasms. I was told by my surgeon that the only solution FOR GERD is to convert to bypass. NO WAY. I told him no and I mean that. Only way I will do anything is if I get an ulcer or something. As of now, I don't have one. I will take my chances with the sleeve. Seems Gastric Bypass surgery just brings on more and more problems. Even years after having it. I am 18 months out from the sleeve on the 21st. I see a few people on there that are doing revisions from sleeve to bypass and I pray it works out for them. I feel for you ladies. I feel sad reading your post. I pray for you to get better and be able to gain weight and have your life back. So sorry this has happend to you. God bless you!!

Seminar And Looooong Wait Times
I had NO clue I would have to take shots after my surgery either until the surgery was done!! I got home and they called in my meds and I was told I had to give myself injections of blood thinners everyday. The first time was awkward. It really didn't hurt though. The needles are so small and they are prefilled syringes. You will be fine. It is a small price to pay for the benefits!!

Insurance Denied Surgery
My insurance wouldn't pay for my surgery either even though I had high blood pressure, borderline diabetes, and was almost 300 pounds. I decided to get online and apply for CareCredit which is high interest but I was approved and I had my surgery and paid 18,000 for it. I now make payments but I had no other choice. I knew I had to have this surgery and I borrowed the money. I'm so glad I did now. I am so much better and so much happier. Hope things turn out for you!! Oh and now I've lost 78 pounds in 5 months and am down to 218.

I Need A Friend.
Not sure if your surgeon requires a preop diet but I had to do one for two LONNNNGGG weeks! LOL It was the hardest two weeks of my life. I lost 15 pounds just on the pre op. I'm 5 months out and have lost 78 pounds to date. You will do fine and be so happy you did this. I won't lie, the first few months aren't easy but as the weeks go by. It gets easier. Good luck to you.

7 Months Today!
That is great weight loss! I will be 5 months in a week and I'm only at 73 pounds. I have 21 more pounds until Onderland! I want to be there so badly. I don't think I'm losing like most. There are a few peoplethat are already at 100 and was sleeved in May like me! I can't figure it out. I'm happy though with my loss but I wish it would move faster. So glad to hear you are doing so well! I know we couldn't lose this much weight without our sleeves in this amount of time. I do feel blessed.

70 Pounds Down 4/12 Months Out.
Hi Everyone, It has been a very long time since I posted. The last time was 8 days post op. I have been following a sleevers page on facebook but I miss this forum so I'm back to stay. It has been 4 1/2 months since my surgery. I have lost 70 pounds. It seems the weight loss is slowing down a LOT! It gets frustrating but I realize that I wouldn't have able to lose 70 pounds without this surgery. I'm so glad I did it even though I questioned myself right after. I am almost off all of my hypertensive medication which is so awesome because I was on two different ones and have had HBP since I was in my early 20's. I was also a borderline diabetic before the surgery and now my numbers are great! I can't thank God enough for this opportunity and blessing to have this surgery. I did have to pay for it because my insurance sucks and won't pay for hardly anything but I know it was so worth it. I'm a little concerned that my weight loss has slowed. I had hoped that the honeymoon phase would last at least 6 months but it seems for me it hasn't. It is really hard for me to lose 2 pounds a week now. I am eating well and getting in all of my protein first. I do have hypothyroidism due to ablation of my thyroid so that may have something to do with it. I do know that there is no way I would have been able to lose 70 pounds in 4 1/2 months without this surgery. I'm so thankful!! In the last two weeks I was able to walk 2 5k's! Before, that would have never been possible. I was close to 300 pounds. My pre op weight was 297 and now I'm 222! Can't wait to be in onederland! I hope to be there by Christmas! What a wonderful gift that would be. Ok... so everyone have a great day and I definitely am staying on this forum! God bless! Most recent pic with my daughter attached!

Well, I will be 15 weeks out tomorrow. I've lost 64 pounds and am so grateful for my sleeve! It wasn't easy in the beginning but now I'm so glad I went through with it. I would never have been able to lose 64 pounds in 15 weeks any other way! God has truly blessed me! I can't wait to be in onederland but I have a ways to go yet !

3 Months Post Op With Pics!
Thanks!! I love you guys! I know I would have NEVER been able to lose this much weight without my sleevey. I said in the beginning that I wouldn't do it again if I had to do it over, but ... I would! Some people have an easy time and some have really bad complications. I think I was somewhere in the middle of that and I am so blessed by my savior , Jesus Christ, because he brought me through this and I prayed for years for him to release me from this addiction. He did! All the glory to HIM!

Freaking Out
You will have to give up foods for about 6 weeks. Pre op 10 days then 2 weeks of liquids, 1 week of soft foods, etc. After that it gets better and better. After your sleeve, you really don't want things like you did before the surgery. I know for me the hardest part was the preop! I thought I would die!!! LOL I made it and I don't regret anything. I had some pain afterward. Spasmz in my chest after swallowing, fatigue, and still struggle with left side pain which I think is a muscle. I'm 9 weeks out today and I've lost 47 pounds. I could have NEVER done that before. You will be so glad and thankful if you make the decision to do this. You really have to want it though. I knew I couldn't do this any other way and I want to be healthy. Good luck and be happy with whatever decision you make!!
