Sleeved on December 5th

Recommended Posts

Sarah, I had my surgery 1.5 weeks ago on 11/29. Considering myself a typically fast healer, I expected the "best case" recovery like many in this forum. That was NOT the case! Spent 3 days in the hospital, could keep nothing down for the first two and was regretting my decision. Once I got home, it got better FAST. I still have to be easy and slow with eating (not do much with drinking, though, and for that I'm grateful, because I was a 64 Oz plus girl before surgery) - trying to progress to purees a bit early has not gone well, it's like a fist to the chest. But take heart... if you follow your doc's guidelines, you should see a significant uptick in the way you feel within a day or two. Good luck!!

Hi Sannah! I was sleeved Dec 4!!! It is so nice to see someone else from this week doing well. I am doing great....lots of gas still and finally a BM after I took milk if mag last night. I singable a question fr you.....when I get my Protein shake in or Agee sips of broth my entire stomach feels huge and bloated. I hate it!!!!! Are you experiencing this? My mom says it must still be swelling and gas and basic trauma from surgery but I hate it.

Thanks for letting me know and I would love to keep up with each other!

I was sleeved on Dec 5th and can relate a lot to the bloating feeling after eating. Smetimes i dont notice it till i stand up.... I figured it was me drinking more than i could have. I dont get like this with 2oz of liquid but 4 do it.

Hey guys! I also had my sleeve on Dec 5th. However, I am a miserable human being. :-( None of the pain pills work, I am still in a ton of pain, can't sleep on my side yet, still not eating/ drinking very much (on full liquids), and I'm just not sure if anyone else is having a hard time healing as well. I ended up staying two nights in the hospital & didn't really think I was ready to leave when I did. I am starting to think its my weight that's causing me to heal a lot slower. My weight before they put me to sleep was 351 lbs. if anyone has any encouragement by all means, please respond.

It is a lot of trauma for the body, so try to take it easy, don't rush it, recovery takes time but it pays off. Be strong. Im sure you have it in you bc it takes guts to have this surgery done. You are in my prayers!

Sarah -

I am from DS, LA. I am sorry you are having such a hard time. Have you tried using gas x strips for the gas? Also a heating pad does wonders for the gas pains.

My goal thru Wednesday is to increase my liquid consumption by 1 cup a day. I was at 5 cups yesterday. I am a Water guzzler so siping Water has been hard. I bought a child's sippy cup and use that for my water.

Good luck to you and let me know how you are doing.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
