Cleared For Surgery.... Got Excited For A Minute There!

Yesterday, I had both my appointment with PCP for final medical clearance and Nut#3. I was told that after both reports were recorded, they would be submitting to insurance. So, I started thinking: if insurance comes back in a week (which I understand is typical), it's possible - just possible - I could have this thing done here in December.

On one hand, I'd like to enjoy Christmas and New Years without restriction, but on the other hand, I'm ready - let's get this thing going!

Then as I was waiting in the lobby of my bariatric surgeon for my Nut appointment, I could overhear the nurses talking about how they've spent all day trying to squeeze in PPO patients that want to get in before their out-of-pocket tallies reset.

While I have PPO, I was told by insurance that my out of pocket resets with the plan-year, which is in June, so I'm good. Of course, that didn't stop me from having a little fun... When I got done with Nut, I went out and said, "I'm clear, and I'm on PPO... when can we get this done?!"

The coordinator about went cross-eyed! It was funny. I let her off the hook pretty quickly, and we had a good laugh.

Congrats! Hope you have it soon and have a quick recovery. Good luck!

That was good. Are you still waiting on the your Insurance company to approve you? I'm 15 days post op things are going well.

Well, I'd imagine the reports getting completed maybe today (PCP + Nut) and getting submitted maybe by the end of the week. I guess all in all, I'm right on schedule. I've always figured on surgery some time in January.
