Does anyone have any specific questions pertaining to any area of WLS (weight loss surgery)? if you do, post your questions here and I will do my best to find an answer and post it as "News" in our " February 2013 Sleeve Buddies" group...If you have not gotten an invite just give me a holler and I will send you one!

Where does the invite appear? Do I have to be on the full site or can I see it on the mobile app?

when you click on the link that brings you to the group, look on the upper right side for a 'join group' button, I think it's black.

I was wondering if anyone has lost too much weight pre-op and became unqualified for the surgery? My insurance requirements are BMI of 40 or more or 35 with 1 or more comorbities. I am doing a pre pre-op diet (on my own) replacing Breakfast & lunch with a Protein Shake and having a sensable dinner. I have lost 12 lbs since Nov 1st. My surgeon requested I loose 10 lbs pre-op. I think that if I continue to do what I am doing for the next 7 weeks till my surgery I may be under the BMI requirement. Thoughts?

What insurance do you have? If you already know the parameters you need to stay within, then just keep an eye on yourself. A good idea would be to call your insurance and see what their policies are. they should be more than willing to share that with you.

Hi my names Mike 35 years old and I'm from the UK I'm 260 pounds and booked in to be sleeves on February 5. I can't wait and would love a buddy to share experiences.

This site looks perfect to answer all the questions we all have but two question I never find.

1-Does the surgery damage stomach muscles for life.

2- Plus when we are old and grey and maybe in an old people's home how do we let people know we are sleeved and we are force fed food? ?

Any ideas

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
