I'm in the southern Denver Burbs! Mountains west of Boulder sounds wonderful! Looks like you were sleeved just a few months before I was. How are things going? Any advice?

Nice! I just friended you. I am doing pretty amazing. I am what....11 weeks out and can eat anything- just not as much! I frickin love it! So you are probably still a little sore still and still on liquids or full liquids. More importantly- how are you?

Actually, I'm pretty good. My daughter and I spent most of the weekend shopping. That did cause some soreness, though just at one incision. I'm going back to work tomorrow. I teach 7th grade, so hopefully the kiddos will take it easy on me! On Wednesday I get to eat what Kaiser calls "Soft and Moist' food. That includes stuff like cheese, lunchmeat, meats...almost normal!

Well good luck tomorrow. You should do great. But don't be too hard on yourself if you get tired easily. You are on exciting new journey! Sounds like you can eat some good stuff- not too bad. All the best!

My sleeve was done by Dr. Farah Husain. She is the bariatric surgeon for Kaiser Permanente in Colorado.

I know the wait seems forever, but it will fly once you have a date! Good luck and keep me updated!

I am a CO native- representin' Englewood/Littleton area of Denver! I had my sleeve in Mexico on 9/24/12. I have been on a very steep learning curve with this surgery regarding my food choices and resultant weight loss. I was wondering if anyone here has received information regarding the philosphy and practice of this weight loss surgeons from their surgeons, nutritionists, etc? I have had little follow up from the coordinators in Mexico- I was given a file folder of foods to eat after the surgery- that gradually got me eating full foods again. My doctor told me in very broken english that I should lost approx 30 pounds every 3-4 months and that "you must change the way you eat". Even though I have no capacity to over eat- it seems that I have been eating too many carbs and too many calories- which I am to keep within 6-800 total for the day. I have been struggling with continuous weight loss since the surgery- I had been on a stall for several weeks- and now that I scrutinized my intake, the stall broke and I apparently lost like 3 pounds within a few days. My weigh-in on the day of surgery was 216. I didn't lose anything while I was doing the pre-op diet, but lost 16 during the post op diet. Right now I sit at 194 lbs.

I was wondering, where do these sayings like "non-scale victory, etc." come from? What is the philosophy behing these instructions. If anyone would like to share information that was provided to them regarding the weight loss process and staying positive!

I'm from Aurora, Co. I was sleeved on August 7, 2012. Down around 97 lbs. I went through the Bariatric center of Colorado in Parker. So happy I did it as well!

I've been very lucky and haven't dealt with stalls, but from the information I read on here, when your body is experiencing a stall, people seem to lose inches, like its your bodies way of catching up.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
