I'm 24 and having my revision on January 9th ... I have the lap band now which I've had since 21 ... I'm scared too!!

Thanks for getting back to me. I also had the lap band but due to complications and pain I had it removed in October 2012. I too had it for 3 years. It was the worst three years of my life. We are around the same age I am 25. I don't yet have a surgery date. Where did you have your surgery done? I'm going through Lancaster general. How are you doing since your surgery?

I go to the weight loss clinic off union deposit and had my surgery at Community General. We have a lot in common haha I am also a RN! Do you have to do all the pre op stuff over again ( like all the appts and diet and all that)

How are you doing since your surgery?

I feel pretty good!! Still having trouble drinking these nasty Protein Drinks (still on full liquids). The first 5 days or so were the worst with pain and fatigue. Physically I feel good the worst part for me is being stuck in my house all day, I have 2 boys my youngest is 11 months and I'm not supposed to lift him so can't really leave my house and go do anything since I can't lug him around! I've lost about 12 pounds since surgery ( I didn't have to do a preop diet or the 2 week liquid diet ) and am planning on going back to work next Friday.

Wow, we really do have a lot in common. I originally went through weight loss clinic when I had my band because I was a pinnacle employee for quite a few years. Now I am a LGH employee so I am going through them. So far it's been a really great experience. To answer your other question I do have to go through the pre- surgical requirements again, which really does suck but I understand since I had a completely separate emergent surgery to remove my band. There wasn't an option to wait and have it all done as a 1 step procedure. Would you like to be friends on here?

Congratulations on the 12 pounds! That's excellent!! I can't wait to have my surgery. I recently, since the holidays have gone back on the myfitness pal app and I am really trying to stick to a healthier diet and more mindful eating. Ever since losing the band it opened up a new world again of eating for me and i could eat everything again.. ( very bad) You should be happy you didn't have to experience that with a 1 step revision surgery. :-)

Yeah i work for pinnacle. Yeah we can be friends on here but I don't know how to do that lol. That does suck having to do it all over again but hopefully you get a date soon! Fortunately for me mine moved really fast. I started having issues after I had my son in February when I think my band slipped some I had it unfilled and my issues went away but started getting fills again and by August couldn't drink or eat anything and had it unfilled completely again and had upper GI and EGD. So since August my band was unfilled and I could eat drink whatever with a few exceptions and gained about 15 lbs ( I think my huge hiatal hernia helped with some restriction?). But I was approved for surgery Dec 1st and had surgery Jan 9th. Looking back now it's scary to me how quick it happened!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
