October Sleever - 2 Week Stall! Not Happy!

Recommended Posts

I was sleeve 10/26, have lost 15 lbs but have been at a stall for the past 2 weeks. What is going on?

Is it possible that this will not work for me?? Devastating!!

You will be just fine....dont worry! Try upping your Water, exercise and Protein, it helped for me! I hit several stalls, I am on a 2 month one right now and I am almost 10 months out but I have been bad, eating great but drinking some wine...ok....more than I should! Best of luck to you!

you will get past it. I hit the stall at 2 weeks post op and stayed on the stall for 4 weeks. It will get better. Just remember the scale can be your enemy. I kept dropping clothes sizes and inches, but not pounds. Now I am losing pounds again. It will change. Hang in there.

What you're experiencing is frustratingly normal. It irritated me (and does still because I'm not ENTIRELY out of it yet. I'll lose one day, then not for the next two) because I'm terribly literal and I'm like "NO, I AM ONLY EATING 600 CALORIES. THERE IS NO WAY I AM NOT LOSING WEIGHT." and then I'd GRRR a lot. But, the fact that a month out from surgery I was down 2 pants sizes and I was like "Okay, so I am losing even if it's not in numbers." so I was more okay with it. I STILL WANT TO SEE DROPPING NUMBERS THOUGH *grumbles*.

My doc sets a goal for your 2 week follow up at 15 lbs. fluids salt, your period could all affect it. Stick to your program and it will come off. I was sleeved on 10/31 and only get on the scale at the surgeons office at this point but when I look in the mirror I don't see changes. When I put on clothes I'm starting to see it. Doc's scales says 18.5 lbs now but it's bound to slow with the diet progression.

You are not alone. Definitely up the Water... get as much as you can in. I sleeved on 9/27/2012. At week 2, I stalled for 10 days. Did not lose an ounce!!! It was frustrating... but after the stall my weight loss started dropping rapidly again. I am 8 weeks post op, down 45 pounds even with that stall. Most people seem to get their first stall during week 2 or 3. So... this WILL work for you.... stay postive...stick to the plan... the weight loss will kick back up for you. Also...my mistake was weighing myself everyday..... don't do this...especially when you're in a stall. It will drive you crazy. I now weight myself once a week...and I love seeing the results.

Good luck to you.... Keep up the great job... You will be successful!!!

Take Care

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
