I have wanted the lap band surgery for the last two years, but my insurance company didn't cover WLS. In September my company changed insurance companies and they approved me today!! Wooooo Hooooo!!! I'm estatic :clap2: I'm looking to get the surgery in December. I need to lose around 160lbs.

I've enjoyed looking at this board. Look's like a lot of support and information going on.

I'm not in Austin, but we like to go as often as we can because we LOVE Town Lake! We love walking and seeing all the activity. I'll be having my surgery in Austin, hopefully within the next 4 months. I'm self pay, so it all depends on how quickly I get my money compeletely together. I'll be going with Dr. Ganta there.

Hi == bumping some old threads looking to see if anyone from the Pearland (Brazoria County) or Hobby area of Houston is interested in forming a support group with a couple of newbies.

Nana - I'm in Pearland until we move. We sold our house and will close on Nov 4. I've been banded since 06/06 and have lost over 50 pounds. I'm struggling right now, so I wouldn't be too "inspirational" - not gaining, but haven't lost anything since 01/07. I'm just kinda fooling around.

Why don't we meet for coffee at a central location? I live near 288 in Southgate (off CR59)
