The Smell Of Protein Makes Me Want To Throw Up!

Ever since my surgery, I can stand the smell or the taste of protein. It makes me so sick. I can't eat one more protein bar or drink one more protein shake!!! Am I the only one?????

How long since surgery ? I am 5 weeks post op the only protein I can stomach at this point is syntrax nectar strawberry mousse flavor. everything else and every other type makes me sick.

You better hold your nose because Protein is not something you want to skip. If you do you really will end up sick.

Why not explain it to your NUT and ask for some alternate Proteins that you could try? There's got to be something that you'll be okay with. You probably just haven't found it yet.

Me too! For me it was just sugar free hot cocoa with unflavored powder in it. I've tried tons of others and for the most part they just all taste disgusting. I've noticed that my reaction to a lot of foods (not just protein drinks and powders) has changed. I'm really not even the same things I did before surgery because I can't stand it.

I am 9 weeks out. I tried some unflavored in my oatmeal and I couldn't do it. I could instantly smell the protein.

Why not just get your protein from food? At 9 weeks you should be able too, no?
