ill be sleeved on TUESDAY nov 6th and a while back i actually had a dream that my dad told me not to get the surgery done by my surgeon and that he just doesnt trust him. which is crazy because my bff's mom just got a bypass done by him a few months ago and she is healthy and looks AMAZING! i am very superstitious and look into my dreams ALL the time. i called my dad and we talked about it and i feel confident in my decision to go with him. but i do over analyze everything and i think i was just over thinking things that night. i havent had any other surgery related dreams lol just extremely anxious and excited at this point

I keep having a post op dream that I'm in the liquid only stage and I just ate real food! Seems to be a reoccurring theme in my dreams. Guess I'm worried I'll forget I just had surgery.

I was just sleeved 5 days ago. I had dreams and hesitation all the way up until the took me into the operating room. Once I was in there I remembered everything everyone all said to me and I just closed my eyes and it was over. I woke up and I was sleeved.

I will say if anyone could have told me. The pain from the gas bubbles is not the business. Just be very very prepared for that.

I had my first dream last night..I'm scheduled for surgery in Mid-February. In my dream I woke up from surgery and my cousin was with me (we are the same age and had tonsillectomies together in grade school) and she had had the surgery too. We were asked to get up and start walking so we found our way to the hospital cafeteria where we thought we should go ahead and get some Water to start sipping. Suddenly my cousin asked me in shock, "why are you drinking BEER!?" I looked down at my hands and in one hand was my water, but the other was a bottle of beer and I felt affronted by her comment and retorted, "well it IS a clear liquid!" We finished our drinks and walked back to our rooms. Next I was laying on my hospital bed with my stomach bloated horribly and the doctor shaking his head, saying, "That amount of swelling is NOT normal, something is wrong and we'll have to re-operate" I was so ashamed of myself I woke up. It seems even in my dreams I'm attempting to self-sabotage. :(

I think we are scared of the whole experience. I'm over here thinking i'm going to be on liquids for the rest of my life. I have to remind my self that, that is only stage 1 and 2. @ lusiousjo I keep hearing about those gas pains i really hope it doesn't hit me hard. I am not looking forward to that, however i'm sure it will be worth it.

I am telling you girl I cried like a little baby. They hurt me so bad. I ended up having to stay in the hospital for two extra days cause I could cough or the shortness of breathe but remember this is only my experience. I had the worst time passing gas. good luck.

Just remember everyone heals differently. My husband had the surgery 6 months ago & the gas pains hit him hard. I'm 6 days out and so far so good! My nurses told me that walking really does help, so no matter how groggy/medicated I am I make myself get up and go. Let us know how surgery goes!

I actually had a dream about surgery the other night but instead of my tummy they were doing surgery on one of my leg. I wasnt in pain and I wasn't scared but I was awake and asking them if they were going to try and sleeve me from there. My surgery is in January so...hopefully by then my subconscious will have them at least doing surgery on the right part of me. Lol.

Yes I heard that the gas pain is bad, but if you move it will relief some pain. So I'm going to be sure to get up and walk around. And lol @ that last comment that dream must have been funny. Through your leg lol.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
