Tomorrow is my day! I have been so nervous and worried that this is the wrong decision for me. But as the time gets closer, I'm just ready to be on the other side of the journey!! So happy to hear all the good reports and so excited for everyone else's upcoming surgeries.

Bright Blessings

Hi y'all! Surgery is done and I'm in my room. Had some serious pain in the beginning but now with all the meds they have in me I'm feeling ok. My largest incision hurts some but the majority of pain I feel is in my chest which I guess is from the gas. Been drifting in and out of sleep for the last few hours but I'm awake now and even walked a little bit. Thanks to everyone for their prayers!

I'm November 20, Harrisonburg, VA! I am only concerned about incision and muscle pain. I had a complete hysterectomy by vertical incision (cut was about 6 inches long) several years ago and thought it was the worst surgery to recover from. My hubby keeps saying its not that again, and I will be fine. I have a high tolerance for pain, but don't ever want to go through that again! My C-sections were a piece of cake comparatively. Other than that I am ready to be on the losers bench for good!

Wow...you're doing well so far Tatylish! I know you haven't started the next phase as yet' date=' but that's pretty good! How are you feeling since leaving the hospital?[/quote']

Thank you! !! Still on full liquids til the 21st!!!! I am a bag of mixed emotions still. No regrets yet. Went dress shopping today for my brothers wedding and it felt soooooo good. I have a lot of energy for surgery just a week ago I am barely in pain :) I just want to swallow less air and my sleep breaks every night due to "hunger pains " I know its not my head....still grateful and feeling good!!

I keep hoping that it will be easy compared to hell I have been through! Thanks for the pick me up! I am planning to go back to work at 1 week post op. This should be fine, I went back to work at week 3 from one of my c-sections, don't know what I was thinking, obviously I wasn't!

I had 2 c-sections and I was wondering about that. So the c-section is worse?

I hope my fellow November sleevers are doing well!!!

I'm doing much better today (day 6 post op). Still have a little incision pain, but not horrible.

Life is looking up!

I've decided to start a blog to chronicle my adventures with my VSG, so I thought I'd share it with you all...in case anyone is interested.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
