November Sleevesters?

Recommended Posts

I'm set for the 26th and I'm still having a hard time telling my closest friends. Only one has been supportive so far. Thank goodness my husband is behind me! I'm still having mixed feelings about everything. Hopefully this forum will help me find answers and support!

That's what my friends say too. No one can understand the daily challenges we face. My body is fighting against me everyday. If this surgery helps us win the war for our long term health and well being then that's what we've for to do. I can't lie though...I'm still a little nervous and scared.

Me too, I'm very scared and nervous! I think I'm in some kind of denial that my surgery is in 4 days, I don't let myself think too much about it because I'm so scared!! I have told only a handful of people/friends and they are all very very supportive, including my husband. I am a very private person, so I don't anticipate that I'd be telling too many folks even as time goes on. I will use this support network and everyone here has been great.

Hi November Sleevesters! I just wanted to thank everyone for their prayers and well wishes. I had surgery on November 9th. I feel better than expected. No real pain, no vomiting. I was up walking a few hours after my surgery. Just working on staying hydrated with Water, broth, popsicles and diluted Isopure. SF Jello doesn't go down to well so I'm staying away from that. I've been walking slowly. Coughing hurts and my stomach is constantly rumbling/ gurgling...what's that all about? I've been sleeping in my living room chair which feel good for my stomach but not for the greatest sleep. Sending prayers to those of you with upcoming surgeries. Stay positive and prayerful that everything will be ok.

Evonnrae so glad you're doing well! I was concerned about you as you left last week for surgery; so I'm pleased all is well! Here's wishing you a swift recovery! Stay tuned....my surgery is on the 19th...

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
