I really love salad and fruit too, but most of the time after i eat the protien, I don't get to it... But, in reality.. if I ate more fruits and veggies, I would never have been 300 lbs! lol Funny, my tastes seem to have changed in the last 3 months

Hmm. I'll bet I could eat Pasta in a soup..... I've never liked the whole wheat pastas. I like spinach noodles but they are mostly white semolina.... I guess I'm wondering why I should eat pasta. Seems like meat, fruit and veges would be better for me. I get some carbs from them.... Do you have a favorite brand of pasta? I haven't tried the whole wheat ones in a long time......

Thanks. That's interesting. I thought maybe the days that I had a Protein Shake I had more cravings...so I was thinking liquid calories aren't for me...or that the sweetness was setting off sugar cravings. I am doing a food journal, so I'll take a look at that.

I might have gotten this link from this board but here it is again. I find it helpful as to see where my intake is coming from. One day I thought I did great and only ate 800 calories. Well, suprisingly enough 50% of those calories were fat 30+% from carbs and less then 20 % Protien. Not good!

Me too! What a great feeling.:clap2:

My other recent non scale victories:

1) My wedding ring is WAY too loose

2) I can tie my shoes without having to do it from the side

3) I had to go bra shopping- which I despise - but the size was two sizes smaller this go around!

Jill

Great topic! Okay my non scale victories are:

I love to excercise and should really do it more regularly.

I can cross my legs

I am all the way down to an 18 in my clothes. All these 18's have been sitting practically new in my drawers for some time now!

I have TONS of more energy.

OH, the biggest of all. I do not take insulin anymore!!!!

My husband said I was getting "SKINNY". Yup, that was his percise word!

I use to live on pasta. Cheap and filling. (And might explain the need for the band! <G>)

Barilla Plus is good. Mueller's Whole Grain is as well. There's another brand that I think has harvest in the name that comes in a dark brown box but since I have severe CRS, I can't think of the name.

I'm certainly not advocating a pasta-rich diet but for me, the more variety of healthy choices, the more likely I am to stay on track. Plus, I really do like pasta, especially when drenched in a high-fat sauce but those were the old days. :rolleyes

I only eat the Dreamfields pastas. I find them in Publix OR they have their own website. Im not sure how they do it but it only has 5 net carbs per serving. It tastes & looks like normal pasta. No one can ever tell. It works too because my sugars don't go crazy after I eat it.

I've always despised bra shopping too. :heh:

Tom

Tom- You are a crack up!:becky: Given me something to smile about today, thinking of what you might look like bra shopping. lol.

Question for everyone:

When you are stressed or upset do you feel tighter? Or is it just me?

Thanks Angela!

You probably will loose weight with all the walking you are going to be doing. I am so envious. Lucky girl. One of these days, when my kids are grown and gone, we will travel abroad. Until then, I too, would love for you to post some pictures for us.

I have really gotta find somewhere interesting to travel to! I have been ordering some visitor's guides to states all over the US for our summer vacation. What I really want to do is book a cruise but my dh isn't fond of the idea at all. I will have to work harder to convince him next summer. And hopefully by then I will look good in a bathing suit!

Why don't you join me and a small bandsters group and SO's in Roatan in the caribbean for a tropical vacation with dolphins!! Cost is as much as if you vacationed in the U.S.! Le t me know... I think about 6 of us would go plus friends, or family... One week at Anthony's Key. ALL INCLUSIVE! It will cost about 1,500 per person plus a flight from Houston or Miami. Lots to do including snorkeling trips, dolphins, and fun!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
