Autoimmune Patients

What adjustments did you make to your medications before and after surgery? How has your weight loss affected your symptoms. I have rheumatoid arthritis and hoping weightloss will help my joints. Thanks!

I also have RA and my Dr told me to stop my injections of Enbrel one week before the surgery & then continue my usual dose after the surgery. Losing the weight will DEFINITELY help take the pressure off the joints!

I have lupus and had to stop methotrexate 4 weeks prior until 2 weeks after. Rough.......2 weeks until surgery.

I have RA and have been off my meds since August 1st. I can not start back till 1 month after surgery. It has been very hard, where I lay in the bed for most of the day. Hopefully my surgery will be schedule soon. I had to stop Mtx and Cimiza
