Chad' date=' if you lived closer I'd come over and bring the non-alcoholic, non-carbonated, diet beer....otherwise known as lemonaid.

Man, that's a great idea! Especially in this no carb two week period. Thx

This is my second day at home after surgery on Monday. The gas pains yesterday were terrible, but I took two 45 min or so walks outside as well as some inside and I feel much, much better today. The bloated feeling is down. I have started drinking in 3 oz plastic mouthwash cups which helps me remember to slow down with sips. Harder than I thought. Pain wise much improved. Took one dose of liquid lortab and a gas x strip today. I am not very tired yet. Glad I have two weeks off. Today I swallowed my meds slowly. I do have to take prevacid, another capsule and two b/p pills. My surgeon said ok, but I am still worried. Prevacid meltaways are 600 a month. So, no thank you. :)

I am attracted to some foods post op that I have no business thinking about. Starting to see what head hunger post op is all about.

At this point, I am looking at Fluid intake, some exercise and a lot of rest.

Happy to be on the other side.

I am 5 lbs down since Monday

I was wondering when we'd hear from you. I'm very glad to hear allis well...thus far. I hope it continues for you. And congrats on the 5 lbs! That's a great way to kick it all off.

Way to go Chad. Keep walking and sipping. I set a timer to go off every 2 hours, and I got up and walked around our property. Afterward I would spend the next hour and a half sipping Water. It's tedious but necessary. Head hunger? It's like ghosts from the past haunting you. They will go away soon enough as long as you don't invite them to stay.

Thanks, it still is hard without her full support at this time. But this is a second chance for me and hopefully us and kids. She needs a lot of space and time now. I get that. Both of us need more emotional healing. Wish there was a measurable time limit on that. A lesson in patience and trusting.

Truth is we all deserve to be seen, heard, understood and taken seriously.

Give the ones you love a hug and kiss.

I like that sentiment. About the ghosts going away if you don't invite them to stay. That is the best description and advice I have ever heard Butterthebean!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
